DESCRIPTION:Come and learn about this ultra sustainable new build house on South Steet\, sitting idyllically by the River Ouse.\n\n130 South Street is a new build replacement house\, sustainable and designed for the future. Trish and Stephen knew that they wanted to build an ultra-energy efficient forever house and chose Baufritz for quality and attention to detail\, before they even had found the plot in Lewes. Baufritz houses are prefab houses which are made in Germany and arrive with everything (apart from the kitchen) already in place. \nThe house took only two days to erect although the whole process for Trish and Stephen has taken 3 years from finding the plot\, gaining planning\, selling their house\, completing the build and moving in. \nThe construction of the house is timber framed with massive amounts of wood fibre insulation and triple glazing. The house has a whole house ventilation system with heat recovery\, is heated by an air source heat pump via underfloor heating and has 24 solar thermal panels to provide its own electricity. DESCRIPTION:Future Energy Landscapes\nCalling all residents of Plumpton! Community Energy Pathways and Lewes District Council will be holding a Future Energy Landscapes (FEL) in Plumton Village Hall as part of a new energy planning project\, and we need your voice to make sure it reflects your vision for the community! \nFEL was developed by the Centre for Sustainable Energy that gives local communities ownership over the future of their energy systems. The workshop draws on real data about energy use and costs so that communities can make informed decisions about future proofing their homes and building energy independence for their area. Which schools do you think should be prioritised for free\, clean energy? Which homes in the town should receive funding for insulation and heat pumps? If you’re worried about high bills or cold homes\, this is a chance to help shape a better future for your area. DESCRIPTION:Curious about how insulation really performs in a home? \nJoin us for a special pop-up eco house tour in Seaford\, organised by OVESCO and hosted by Architectural Designer Carol Smyth of Design Hindover. \nThis session at Carol’s house is focused on thermal imaging.  Carol will open her home and show thermal imaging taken this March and compare to last year’s imaging. There will be a lively discussion of how to use a thermal imaging camera\, a run through of the improvements made and what the camera is showing us\, the performance of the house this winter and what work will be done next.
